KERCEM village description:

Kercem village it is located very near to capital city Victoria. Kercem Church it is dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour as well as to Saint Gregory. Most interesting places in this village are Ghadira Ta` Sarraflu {Sarraflu pond}, Lunzjata valley and Ghar Ilma cave on a hill. A fair in Ghadira Ta` Sarraflu is organised every year. In Kercem there are 3 bakeries offering daily local bread, pastizzi, qassatat, sausage rolls, pizza and local pizza `ftira` as well as confectionery such as many different cakes and gateaux, honey rings, chocolate chip rings, date rolls, fig rolls, lemon rings, locally made ice cream, `Prinjolata` for Carnival, `Kwarezimal` for Lent, `Figolla` for Easter, mince pies and locally made panettone for Christmas plus many more.
Within Kercem village there is a small village called Santa Lucija with a chapel dedicated to martyr Saint Lucy.
